Notably missing from the images, or this preview build entirely, are enemies - though there are some random NPCs t-posing in a building. A large dock area with the water inexplicably missing appears in several images, and other areas seem abandoned - but not ruined - town areas and some wilderness with roads. In the screenshots we also get a sense of the environments we'll be fighting through. It seems as though most players will be able to carry three weapons, and have one armor slot, one medkit slot, and utilise items called Mementos and Remnants. The upcoming game from Arkane is channeling the open-world looter shooter formula for Redfall, with a lobby based system designed around co-op gameplay and various weapon types a rating system and perks. Essentially, we're looking at ' Borderlands, but with vampires'.

In the meantime, to keep yourself busy, you will be able to drown yourself in some Deathloop which is releasing tomorrow (14 September 2021) on PS5 and PC (Steam).Ever since Redfall was announced, many have assumed that we're looking at a game that can be roughly summed up as ' Left 4 Dead, but with vampires', however the leaked screenshots and some new information revealed by those who allegedly had access to the playtest - as seen in this Reddit thread - paint a different picture.

Redfall will be released for PC, Xbox Series X, and Series S around mid-2022 and if you have Xbox Game Pass you will have the joy of playing from the day of launch. So for now we can look past the rudimentary graphics in these screenshots and the other bits of questionables, but only for now. Since Redfall was only announced in mid-June this year, it’s safe to say that these leaks are still from really early development (despite this game technically being in the works since roughly August 2017). We can also see an NPC or two which leads to us thinking that there is a general population that you can interact with who will not be trying to rip you apart in one way or another (hopefully). The other currency could be for what seems to be an in-game store and yes, it is highly likely that there will be microtransactions. We can also see icons that are presumably for the currency that we will be using on the island of Redfall, namely “Scrap” which of course you will be able to dismantle certain items as one way to earn this. Players will also be able to carry bandages, keys, lockpicks, and wire cutters. You can note from the screenshots that players will have (or at least at this point) three weaponry slots, an armour slot, a slot for both a medkit and memento respectively, and a slot for remnants. Weapons (which could also require certain levels to use) revealed in the leak include the UV Beam M01, Stake Launcher M02, “Hammer” (a handgun), and Heat Civilian M01 (assault rifle).

Weapons, skills, and missions will also have various tiers bearing much resemblance to other Arkane titles. Things like there will be six playable characters (each with three abilities) instead of just the four characters from the reveal trailer, as well as an XP earning system for which you can take on missions, slaughter enemies (both human and vampire), and slay bosses to earn said XP.Īs previously mentioned, it will be an open-world game, and thanks to the leak we can now also expect this open-world to have gameplay reminiscent of Borderlands and ability styles somewhat akin to Dishonoured.
